[Music] welcome to a new video on this channel today I'm going to finish up my app and also talk about something that a lot of you may struggle with how to find app ideas the app that I'm building right now is a calorie tracker and I still have a few things to wrap up I need to finish the onboarding process and figure out how to send M reminders in case the user forgets to Lo their food so this is a very weird bug because when I tried to navigate back from the stats to home screen the application freezes so I tried to look up on a forum and found that the problem was that I added the dismiss environment object so this was very stupid because I just had it in the lines of code and didn't used it and I know what you might be thinking aren't there already a ton of calorie tracker apps out there or isn't this unoriginal and yeah it's true it's not a brand new idea but here is something to think about just because there are already cafes in your town doesn't that mean no one else can open one and be successful of course not the reality is if you're constantly chasing originality you'll probably never build anything coming up with a completely new idea is incredibly difficult and most original ideas are just improvements of something that already exists so instead of trying to be 100% unique focus on differentiation how can you make an existing idea better maybe through a better interface better pricing or a feature that other apps lack that's exactly what I'm doing with my calorie tracker I'm focusing on making it more intuitive and easier to use than most color record apps out there and I also offer a better pricing now let's talk about how I actually find app ideas if you struggle with this hopefully my Approach will help you too when I decided that I want to build my own apps I had no clue what to work on I was stuck in the mindset that every idea needed to be revolutionary but then I started watching videos from Indie developers and SS Founders and they all said the same thing you don't have to be original just take an existing idea and make your own version of it that really clicked for me instead of wasting time over thinking I just started building one of the best ways to find ideas is to talk to the people around you your friends family or even co-workers for example my girlfriend was using a plant identifier app but she found it too expensive so I built one for her now she uses it every day and it even got downloads and subscriptions on the App Store another example is the calorie tracker app that I'm working right now as I started working out more and taking care of my nutrition this app idea came into my mind or another place in which you can find good app ideas is from the App Store just walk through the app store and see Pop apps in different categories and think how you can differentiate your application from the ex existing ones maybe an affordable alternative or a better UI most successful apps didn't reinvent the wheel they just improved on something that already existed so if you're struggling to come up with an app idea don't overthink it look around you talk to people pay attention to your own needs and see what's already working in the market and most importantly just start building the more you build the easier it gets to come up new ideas the that's for today guys and let me know in the comments how do you come up with new app ideas and see you in the next video [Music]
