If you have a child who talks a lot, then that child is blessed.
And the parents say that they did a good job educating them.
They can express themselves in front of their parents.
This is very important.
If you just maintain that, your child wo n't have to worry about literacy.
If you're wondering if your child has literacy or reading comprehension, then that child has literacy.
The act of writing itself develops the brain.
Even if you don't train your child's thinking ability, writing hard will stimulate the child a lot.
The moment you write a complete sentence, your thoughts are organized.
Having organized thoughts means that you already have a logical voice.
That high 80% is actually incomprehensible.
Oh, you can't understand math problems even if you read them.
That's right.
But what do you do for your child? You only train them to solve those problems.
Oh, they do n't solve them.
They only train them to solve them.
So in the case of your child, in just 6 months, they can solve high-level problems on their own.
6 months [Music] [Music] Hello.
This is the Garun Family booth, where you only get practical educational information.
Today's Garden Guest has invited Director Park Joo-bong of the CPS Education Research Institute.
Hello, hello.
I am the main culprit of the CPS management plan, who has dug only one well of thinking ability for 20 years.
Thank you for taking the time today.
You said that you have dug only one well of thinking ability for 20 years.
I think these parents have a habit of unconsciously giving thinking ability in their daily lives.
Can I ask you about daily habits that would be good for our parents to know? I will talk about three things.
The first is that I hope you pay a lot of attention to children's stories.
There are many cases where we indifferently pass over children's stories.
But in fact, it is necessary to find the children's needs or things within them.
For example, there was a second grader.
This friend is good at calculations and math.
But if it is in sentences, he passes.
I wondered why that is, but the mother did not know the cause.
Why is this child like this when it is in sentences? So we had a consultation with the child, but the child did not talk.
Oh, I told the director.
Yes, he did not talk to us, did not talk to his mother, did not talk to anyone.
It took almost a month for my mouth to open.
Then I started talking, but I couldn't read the text.
It's not like, "Why don't you like this?" or "Why can't you solve this?", but I keep asking in a different way to find out why.
If you ask as if you were asking and keep repeating the process, the child will be able to talk to the mother about whether something is wrong or good.
Second, if you do this, the child will understand.
When the child understands, the mother can ask for the learning that the child wants.
So, like I said earlier, if this child had gone to advanced or advanced classes like other children, he would have collapsed.
But mothers are focused on what the children around them are doing right now.
As a result, there are many children who are on the borderline of burnout.
Usually, children in the top grades are not on the borderline.
However, in the case of middle and high school students, it does n't seem like they can't study, and they seem to be following along, but there's a very ambiguous line.
If you say they can't, they won't do it at all, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
They're not very good, and they 're in the middle grades.
If you push them, they'll do it, so let's push them.
At this time, the children have a way to communicate with their mothers.
If it is a difficult situation, talk about the difficulty.
But if it is not working, they just accept what they are told and follow it.
They follow it, but inside, they are building up a lot of stress.
If more pressure is applied, they will go over it.
When we were in the 5th and 6th grades, they often say to our mothers that it would be good for them to take a break for a while.
But now, the mothers are a bit greedy.
They keep pushing, but after about 5 months, they get a call saying that they do n't want to do anything.
Oh, so they have gone over it.
But once they have gone over it, it is very difficult to get them to come back.
Don't follow those around you, but get to know your child and adjust the amount of study.
The third thing is a method that develops thinking and ability at the same time.
As the amount decreases, there is time to think deeply about a problem and a content.
Then, the mother has time to ask questions about that part.
You can ask them to explain.
When a child tries to explain, they think about how to do it in their head.
The priority and logical order are all electrical.
This is the electricity.
Yes, yes, how are you going to express it? This is the door.
They are all connected.
So the more a child talks, the higher their literacy.
At this time, the more they talk, the more they can talk with their friends.
It's not like we're joking around, but it's about making a habit of expressing complete thoughts in the form of complete sentences.
But usually, conversations between parents and children are everyday conversations.
What can make a more complete form come out? That's with learning materials.
You said that many children's literacy skills improve.
What should we say and how? It's very important to speak in one complete sentence.
But when we talk to children in everyday life, we don't talk like that.
If we want them to speak in sentences, we have to let them express their thoughts.
There must be many situations in life, and in that situation, why do you want to do this? Or if the mother gives instructions to the child but the child doesn't do it, why should he do it that way? What are your thoughts? Try to persuade the mother.
These things may seem small, but they are very difficult.
Oh, it's difficult.
Usually, scholars say that more than 95% of questions are finished before entering school.
Up until the kindergarten stage, they talk a lot and ask a lot.
But if they feel uncomfortable talking to their mother or father, they do n't talk.
These questions keep closing them off.
They close their mouths even when they enter elementary school.
They talk a lot.
If there is a child who does that, then that is a blessing.
And the parents say that they did a good job educating them.
Being able to express yourself in front of your parents is very important.
If you just maintain that, your child wo n’t have to worry about literacy.
People often think of literacy as a very advanced task, but if you think about it very simply, it is the ability to converse with others.
Well, in the process of speaking, accurately understanding what the other person is saying and responding to it is also literacy.
But instead, the words have been converted into letters.
That is reading a book.
So, that is a conversation with a writer.
Understanding and accepting that is literacy.
It does not require any advanced training.
It is the task of converting spoken words in daily life into written words.
So, think of that as a blessing and accept it all.
In the process, as I mentioned earlier, try to have your child talk about complete thoughts as much as possible.
If there is something that parents commonly know about power, can you twist it a little? I think there are two things.
The first is that reading and literacy are considered the same.
If you read a lot, your literacy will improve.
If I give you the answer, the area of reading and the area of literacy are It's a little different.
To be precise, literacy is.
When we didn't know the letters, we could speak and listen.
Now that we enter school, it comes out in books.
Reading and writing are the things we learn to understand.
Why do we learn them? We learn them to understand them.
Why do we read? Reading is not done to learn the Korean language.
Reading is done to broaden one's philosophical horizons and expand one's knowledge.
It's not done to gain knowledge through reading.
So I hope we can get rid of the idea that we have to read to improve literacy.
And now, we need to organize the purpose of the second reading.
Recently, literacy has been emphasized because AI is emerging.
AI is good at teaching and doing everything.
Will AI be better at knowledge? What can humans do? Then, humans should be able to ask questions and understand the answers given by AI.
Thinking and literacy are connected.
The era of AI or the high school credit system is the same.
It 's a time when thinking and literacy are emphasized, so what is the purpose of reading? For example, the purpose is to broaden one's philosophical horizons or knowledge.
If you say it's something like expanding, then subjective reading is completely acceptable.
However, if you study for the purpose of literacy, then you have to read objectively.
Oh, that's what they teach you during the national exam period.
Everyone is learning, but they are looking for it outside.
The textbook already teaches you what to read objectively.
Um, I'd like to ask about a reading method that can capture the solution, not subjective appreciation.
Can you explain the methods that parents can do at home, divided into lower and upper grades? When we look at students, there are many children who cannot read properly.
If you are curious about whether your child has literacy or reading comprehension, try reading a book to them.
Have them read aloud.
How about reading aloud? Just give them a page and tell them to read it out loud.
If they read it without hesitation, very naturally, at an average speed, and with no mistakes in pronunciation, then that child has literacy.
They are ready.
However, if they stutter or have incorrect pronunciation, this means that the process of connecting letters, sounds, and meanings has not been completed yet.
If you keep having them read silently with their eyes, this will later become a problem in the upper grades.
When you go up, there can be a lot of problems when you do in-depth reading for actual learning.
So, for lower grades, let's emphasize reading fluency a lot.
It's not just me who's saying this, but everyone says that before third grade, you should make sure that you read accurately.
That reading is very important.
But that's something that is constantly being read to children in first, second, and third grades.
Why is reading important? What I just said is that sounds, letters, and meanings are integrated.
Let's assume that there is a person who has not learned letters.
That person can communicate through speech.
In other words, sounds and meanings are connected.
And letters are something that must be learned later in life.
But until they enter elementary school, they are read to, and when they enter second grade, they will probably read aloud at school.
But at home, they only read with their eyes.
So they don't have time to connect them perfectly.
They do n't get trained.
Then, when they go to higher grades, they go through a lot of erotic situations.
I hope they do that.
There is another characteristic of Hangul.
Hangul has other rules, such as Gukgye Hwaraji Dubok.
English will be learned a lot in places like PASS or something like that, but there is nothing that teaches Korean Panex.
I have n't seen it.
I want to make them read correctly and accurately.
In that case, first, train them to properly connect letters.
That's the key.
If you complete that in the third grade of elementary school, there won't be any problems in the text.
You don't need to read expensive content.
If you just practice saying the books you have now out loud, you can start from the basics of literacy and advance to the upper ranks.
And the actual textbooks are organized like that.
In fact, they tell you to read three books a week.
Do you read them? You can't.
Reading even one book a month is difficult.
But if you give them ten books, three books a week, they start to hate books.
I've seen kids like that.
If you give them a book for a fourth grader, they do n't want to read.
Why is it so disgusting? Why do you make them have such a strong aversion to books? So I hope you train them while thinking about those parts.
Please take care of this again in the early grades.
Can you give me a tip that I can use at home? There are also many cases of reading with e-books.
Those reading programs come out as e-book pads.
There are many, but first, elementary school students should read paper books.
Paper books have one or two or three advantages.
The first is that you can read with all five senses.
First, visually, you can feel something like, "Oh, it's thick, it's thin.
" Also, auditorily, when you turn the page, you can hear the sound of the page turning.
There's also the sense of doing.
Then, you use your eyes and something else.
The smell of the paper, the smell of the book, and even the pictures in the book are all visual stimulations that all five senses can experience.
That's very important.
When we read a book, we can see where we saw something in the middle of the book.
So, memory is not about remembering each piece of text knowledge, but the environmental situation.
We often talk about episodic memory.
That book was red and smelled really dirty.
But there's a story there.
These things are connected and come across comprehensively.
Yes, the pad really only looks at the text.
Another advantage of reading a paper book is that you can take notes.
I read a lot of e-books on the pad to quickly acquire knowledge.
I take imaginary notes.
The problem with e-books is that I can't find it.
Oh, if you look at the book like this, it comes right up.
As I said earlier, since I memorized the entire thing, I roughly know where it is written.
So, the feeling of a paper book is very classic, but make sure you experience that in elementary school.
Next, writing.
Elementary school is something you really shouldn't miss.
One of my friends, a professor, complained to me.
He wrote a report and it took him almost an hour to decipher one page.
So, the writing was almost flying.
You just have to write logically.
No, you have to write so that others can understand it.
So, it's important to write correctly.
Second, the act of writing correctly is directly connected to me.
Looking at the shape of the letter and moving your hand accordingly, training the motor skills of your hand, and all of that is connected to the brain and stimulates it.
The act of writing itself develops the brain.
Even if you don't receive thought training, it stimulates you a lot even if you write hard.
The third advantage is that you organize your thoughts while writing.
The moment you write a complete sentence, you have organized your thoughts.
Having organized your thoughts means that you already have a logical conclusion.
So, writing is a must.
It's an important point in elementary school.
I think why do you want to help them practice writing at home? Can you give me some tips? In the past, everyone wrote diaries in school, right? Writing a diary is writing practice.
It's about organizing the thoughts that occurred during the day.
In the past, when I was in school, I had to write more than five lines in that diary.
It was hard to fill it up, so I was stressed out from writing a diary.
Today, I'm going to write only one line.
But the important thing is to write a complete sentence.
The meaning of a complete sentence is that it contains one thought.
This is something that is continuously instilled in children.
It's okay to write one line.
Instead, write it in a complete form.
This is a very important role.
Let them write one line in their diary.
One line, and if they write one line, they will write two lines.
Of course, when we train them, when we train them, how do we train them to write? The topic is, we give them everything from 3 to 40.
Out of these, write one line.
Write whatever you want to write.
And write whatever you want to write.
And two lines, and three lines.
This is only for about 20 or 30 days.
Then, writing becomes very natural.
The speed at which thoughts are converted into writing becomes very fast.
[Music] Upper grades How can we take care of it? For the upper grades, we assume that reading fluency has been completed.
I don't know if parents have seen textbooks for 4th grade and above, but they all leave them at school, so from then on, they start learning reading comprehension.
When they come across an unfamiliar word, how do they know it? And how do they read a sentence? These things all come up.
Usually, from the perspective of general literacy, we talk about reading strategies or reading skills, but to be precise, we teach them analysis tools.
Where do they learn it? They learn it in Korean.
It's all taught in textbooks.
There are clear goals for each unit in the textbook.
They're all written down.
Refer to them and ask the kids about them.
What should I do if I come across a word I don't know while reading a book? Usually, when they ask, "What does this word mean?", we just explain it to them.
If they have a little bit of thought, they say, "Hey, look it up.
" But in reality, writers choose their words very carefully.
And they have to write so that they can understand the word without having to look it up in the dictionary.
That's proper writing.
Yes, so if you look at a word, the explanation for that word is in the book.
Yes, we learn how to find it during Korean class.
Looking at the context, it seems to mean something like this.
Oh, inference is also learned.
We are learning techniques to find texts in this way during the pre-school period.
Mothers do n't know that, right? Would n't it be good for mothers to refer to the textbooks like this? What if they learn math at school? They go to an academy and diligently train.
Yes, but what if they learn Korean at school? That's it.
They think that reading the text is what they have.
Well, the text in the book can change next year.
What's the point of memorizing it in your head? The problem is why they are learning these words.
That's it.
That's reading.
So upper grades need to learn that.
Apply what they learned during the pre-school period sufficiently.
When you think about an example of applying it to a math problem when reading a book, 80% of the children we teach now actually don't understand.
Oh, they don't understand the math problem itself even when they read it.
Oh, that's right.
But what do you do for your children? Think about the meaning of each word and connect it to the problem.
In math problems, don't just train them to solve it.
Oh, they don't solve the problem.
They don't solve it.
They just say it out loud.
I trained him.
After about a month of that, problems started to come up.
Yes, people think that they have to do it this way, but language is connected to speaking, and expressing pictures with letters, and everything is connected.
Just verbalizing that improves literacy.
He did n't solve problems with a pencil for a month, but he had him explain math problems out loud.
What does that mean? No, when you look at the numbers in this picture, what do they connect? By doing it that way, he gradually understood the problems, and since the problems were defined, he naturally started to solve them.
The child is not stupid.
Well, he does n't know what I'm talking about.
So in his case, 6 months is the best.
Solving that level on his own is 6 months.
If parents were to choose one keyword about the world in their hearts, what would you choose? Give your child time and space.
There's a novel called River and N.
It's about a lover who works at a conservative government office.
I asked him to bring things that impressed him while doing an activity with this book, and a child was reading a book to children at 3:30 on Sunday afternoon.
Why is that? I told you that it was impressive, and he said, "I always go to the coffin at 3:30 PM on Sundays.
" So, when you read a book, if you take your time and read it, you will read it thoroughly and deeply.
What I mean by being deep is that you take the time to connect it to your life, your knowledge, and your background.
But if you keep following the story quickly, you don't have time to think like this.
Of course, if you don't give yourself time to think about thinking skills and connecting, thinking skills cannot develop.
That's because his story is so clear.
I want to emphasize time fuel.
Thank you for sharing such warm insights today.
